Basic Principle

The gas mixture enters an adsorption column filled with a solid adsorbent material that selectively retains the gas components with higher affinity. The adsorption capacity of the material depends on both pressure and temperature.

While the strongly adsorbed species are retained within the adsorbent bed (e.g. high pressure or low temperature), the non-adsorbed components pass through the column and exit as purified product gas, meeting the required purity specifications.

Once adsorption is complete, the retained gas components are released by applying pressure or temperature swing, allowing the regeneration of the adsorbent bed for the next operating cycle.

Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA)

Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) is a gas separation technology designed to deliver high-purity gases while optimizing the balance between purity and recovery for maximum efficiency. Contaminants are released by depressurization to atmospheric pressure and discharged from the adsorption columns. The system can be supplied as a complete package, including compressors, dryers, deoxidizers, filters, and multiple levels of control and automation.

  • Up to 99.999% purity
  • Up to 95% recovery
  • Continuous & reliable operation
  • Pressure up to 40 barg
  • Configuration 3 to 9 beds

Vaccum Pressure Swing Adsorption (vPSA)

Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption (VPSA) is a gas separation technology designed to deliver high-purity gases while optimizing the balance between purity and recovery for maximum efficiency.

Regeneration is achieved by depressurization down to vacuum, enabling more effective desorption of contaminants from the adsorbent material, which are discharged from the adsorption columns. The system can be supplied as a complete package, including compressors, dryers, vacuum pumps, deoxidizers, filters, and multiple levels of control and automation.

  • Up to 99.999% purity
  • Up to 95% recovery
  • Continuous & reliable operation
  • Pressure up to 15 barg
  • Configuration 3 to 9 beds

Temperature Swing Adsorption (TSA)

Temperature Swing Adsorption (TSA) is a gas separation technology capable of obtaining high purity gases. The temperature swing from low to high temperature provides an efficient regeneration of the adsorbent material by promoting the desorption of the contaminants. The system can be supplied as a complete package, including compressors, dryers, vacuum pumps, deoxidizers, filters, and multiple levels of control and automation.

  • Up to 99.999 %
  • Up to 100% recovery
  • Up to -70 ºC dew point
  • Temperature up to 200 ºC
  • Continuous & reliable operation
