The Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption (VPSA) technology for O₂ production is a specialized variation of the PSA process, specifically designed for low-pressure oxygen applications. This O₂ VPSA technology utilizes a tailored zeolite adsorbent, leveraging its higher adsorption selectivity under reduced pressure conditions. The primary advantage of an O₂ VPSA over an O₂ PSA is a 50% reduction in power consumption for oxygen production. This technology can deliver O₂ with purities ranging from 75% to 93.5%. O₂ VPSA’s are commercial attractive when it comes to heavy duty applications requiring continuous consumption of O₂ at low pressure.
