Since its foundation in 2018 as a spin off from the University of Porto, Amnis Pura has maintained its focus on technology development related to gas purification and separation technologies by continuing the close collaboration with academia and research institutes and the participation in various European research projects.

The technological competence combined with the significant inhouse manufacturing capability and the operational support of its industrial shareholder Witzenmann GmbH has enabled Amnis Pura to provide purification systems to commercial customers in more than 10 countries spanning over 4 continents.

Foundation

Amnis Pura was established as a spinoff from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP).

2020
First Sale

The company sold its first lab-scale PSA unit, officially marking its entry into the hydrogen market.

Expansion

To meet industrial capacity demands and advance its technologies, Amnis Pura moved from the FEUP laboratories to the Laborim Industrial Park.

Amnis Pura secured its first contracts for the sale of Industrial PSA units.

Major Funding Achievements

Amnis Pura secured a total grant funding of 2.0 million euros, within a total investment of 3.5 million euros, through participation in the AGENDA M-ECO2 and H2Driven projects.

Growth and Strategic Partnerships

Amnis Pura expanded its facilities in the Laborim Industrial Park to accommodate ongoing and larger-scale projects.

Witzenmann GmbH from Pforzheim acquired a stake in Amnis Pura, marking the beginning of a promising partnership.

Technological Breakthrough

Amnis Pura supplied a hydrogen purification unit to a Joint Industry Project involving Wärtsilä Gas Solutions, Höegh Evi and 3 Norwegian research institutes for an ammonia pilot cracking project with substantial scale-up potential.
