Steam Reforming
Steam Reforming
Steam reforming is a common process for producing hydrogen by reacting hydrocarbons such as natural gas, liquid gas or naphtha with water molecules. The process takes place at temperatures of around 800 °C to 900 °C and at average pressures of 20-30 bar in the presence of a catalyst to produce hydrogen, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. Amnis Pura has developed and optimised an adsorbent to remove carbon monoxide, which is the bottleneck in this type of separation. With an optimised multi-layer bed, Amnis Pura is able to meet the purity standards of ISO 14687-2, with a recovery of over 90 %.
