Gasification is a viable solution against global warming, promoting the valorisation of waste in a circular economy. It is an industrial process in which carbonaceous raw materials (waste, biomass and heavy oils) are converted into a combustible gas called synthesis gas (CO and H2) and into inert slag or coal. Controlled quantities of an oxidiser are injected into a sealed reactor to generate high temperatures, usually over 800 ºC. Gasification is very demanding in terms of purification due to the large amount of contaminants. In addition, since it is a discontinuous process, Amnis Pura’s PSAs have the cycle synchronised with upstream processes to guarantee high purity levels.
